For the past 6 months, I’ve been taking jazz piano lessons. At first I was disheartened by how slowly I was making progress. But now that I’ve stuck with it long enough to see my skills improve slightly, I’ve begun to thoroughly enjoy being a beginner.
This is a very long term project, and years down the road, I imagine I’ll be happy I spent a few months agonizing over 7th chords.
