Morning Walk

Every morning, I walk to the park while drinking my coffee.

In reality, I have only done this 4 times, but it’s interesting how quickly this is all beginning to feel normal.

It’s been strange. This morning at 8:30am, I saw no cars driving on the roads of my neighborhood. I passed a few others on similar strolls, but we kept our distance. Presumably, these people are also reading Santa Clara County’s daily public health report which I’ve been referring to as the “Bad News Bulletin”.

The park is only about 1 block away from my house, so today I took a detour down a side street. It is less than half a mile away from where I sleep every night, but I’d never been there before. When walking down the street, I got a clear and beautiful view of Mission Peak which is about 9 miles away.

Somewhere out there, there’s another universe where my life is uninterrupted, the country in better shape, but I never noticed this at all.
