There’s a lesson I continually need to re-learn about creative work. Even the simplest creative task needs an hour. But it’s such a small task, shouldn’t it take five minutes? It can, but five minutes only allows for one idea, and the first idea is rarely the one. Creativity requires iteration and space. Give it an hour.
